The "Dirty Bird" dance, an awkward combination of hopping and flapping, was introduced by running back Jamaal Anderson and tight end OJ Santiago during the Falcons' 1998 season. Before the team lost that season's Super Bowl to the Denver Broncos, they even persuaded straight-laced coach Dan Reeves to perform the dance for the media.

Jim McMahon and 'The Fridge' were part of this all-star team that went on to crush the Pats in the big game.

At dinner in Ft. Lauderdale a week before the game, Namath and his Jets roommate Jim Hudson were approached by two Colts players. Colt defensive end and kicker Lou Michaels grew more and more angry with Namath, who kept talking about how the Jets would beat the Colts. Michaels finally asked Namath in frustration what he'd do if the Colts won. Namath replied, "I'll sit right down in the middle of the field and I'll cry." The tension broken, Namath invited the Colts to join them for dinner, paid for the meal, and gave them a ride back to their hotel.

I don't know what this lyric means, I just think that it's HILarious.

Bills' coach Marv Levy was fined by the league when he missed a mandatory press conference before Super Bowl XXV, the team's first appearance in the game. After narrowly losing that game, the Bills had a particularly bad outing the following year, losing 37-24 to the Redskins in a contest far more one-sided than the score indicates.



Star running back Thurman Thomas couldn't find his helmet at the start of the game, missing the Bills' first two plays (the Redskins had the ball first; Thomas had much extra time in which he could have found his helmet).



Late in the first half, with the Bills trailing 17-0, they drove to the Redskins' 20. Buffalo quarterback Jim Kelly was then sacked at the 28, and on the next play, he threw an incomplete pass to Andre Reed, who thought he was interfered with. Reed threw his helmet, resulting in a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and forcing the Bills out of field goal range.



Don Beebe WAS involved in a play in which a sure touchdown turned into a fumble, but was the hero, not the goat. In Super Bowl XXVII, with the Bills trailing the Cowboys 52-17, quarterback Frank Reich - starter Jim Kelly had been injured - fumbled and the Cowboys' Leon Lett picked the ball up and was running unimpeded toward the end zone, 65 yards away. About ten yards from scoring, Lett slowed down and raised the ball in the air. The Bills' Don Beebe caught up with him from behind, swatted the ball from his hand, and it rolled through the end zone for a touchback, giving Buffalo the ball back.

They came close against the Giants in 1991, but lost 20-19. They then lost the next three Super Bowls.

This time it was Taylor.

Super Bowl XLI was played in Miami. Reggie Wayne played college football at the University of Miami. He made a joyful return to that city by hauling in a 53-yard touchdown pass, helping the Colts win the Super Bowl for the first time since January of 1971.

The Denver Broncos had a 0-4 Super Bowl record at one time, that they shared with the 0-4 Minnesota Vikings, and the 0-4 Buffalo Bills (who did it consecutively), before winning back-to-back championships with victories in Super Bowl XXXII over the Green Bay Packers 31-24, and XXXII 31-19 over the Atlanta Falcons. In 5 out of 6 Super Bowl appearances, John Elway was their starting quarterback. However, in Super Bowl XII, the Denver Broncos met the Dallas Cowboys in the New Orleans Superdome. The starting quarterback for the Broncos was Craig Morton who had started and lost Super Bowl V for the Cowboys to the Baltimore Colts, 16-13. He did not fare much better in this Super Bowl as the Cowboys won handily, 27-10. There were two MVP's for the Cowboys in that Super Bowl, Co-MVP's Harvey Martin and Randy White.
