The clone army was supposedly at the request of Master Sifo-Dyas, almost 10 years ago and they were all modeled after the bounty hunter, Jango Fett. Jango stated that he has never heard of Master Sifo-Dyas, as Lama Su stated and was recruited by a Lord Tyrannus.

Lama Su never questioned why they were being built, as he was only interested in money. The only clone that was not tampered with was named Boba Fett, at the request of Jango. We see him again later in the trilogy.

"Attack of the Clones" brings about many impending issues in society today, such as cloning, politics, and the fall of democracy.
