1800s Baseball - Which National League team was fined in 1894 for conspiring to alter games?
The correct answer is 'Baltimore Orioles'
None of the other teams existed in 1894, and the National League was the only league in baseball in 1894. After an investigation, it was found that many Oriole players conspired with their groundskeeper, Tom Murphy, to landscape baselines in their home park to prevent their bunts from rolling foul, and to keep the outfield grass high, so illegal balls could be hidden throughout the outfield at propitious moments. Also, the dirt was loosened in front of the pitcher's mound to confuse pitching greats Cy Young and Amos Rusie.

The correct answer is 'Nobody won it'
Leon Czolgosz shot President McKinley twice on September 6, 1901, at what was called the Temple of Music. McKinley survived that day, but died eight days later of gangrene after the surgery. Czolgosz confessed to the shooting and stated, "I killed President McKinley because I done my duty. I didn't believe one man should have so much service and another man shoud have none." Czolgosz was executed via the electric chair only 53 days later at Auburn State Prison. The 23rd President, Benjamin Harrison, also died earlier in 1901 at the age of 67.
