80s-music Trivia Quiz # 2
This is 80s Music Quiz # 2, GOOD LUCK! You can head back to the main 80s Music Quiz index, or try your luck at a random quiz.80s Music Question 1
STYX: Who Am I? - I was hired to fill in for a departed guitar-player/vocalist because I could hit the high notes in "Lady" and Styx needed me for the "Equinox" tour. Little did they know, my aggressive song-writing and on-stage persona would help make Styx the SUPER GROUP we became. My contributions in the '70s and '80s are often overlooked and underratted because of my ability to be a supporting player. But Dennis DeYoung has credited me in several interviews as being a LARGE part of the creative genius of that era. (I usually give him the credit as well, even though we are no longer on speaking terms.) The truth is Styx would probably not have been what it was if not for all the diverse key-elements. Although I am not an original member, many media people mistake me as such. The list of Styx hits with me as lead vocalist include "Blue Collar Man", "Too Much Time On My Hands", "Fooling Youself", "Snowblind", and the list goes on. In 1989 I quit Styx and became a member of Damn Yankees where I achieved similar success. I rejoined Styx in 1995 and, after DeYoung was dismissed, became the media-recognized "Front-Man" for Styx, which I was not used to. You might try consulting a "Crystal Ball" if you still don't know who I am.
